Aidan Sullivan Sandy is a modern folk singer, songwriter, and performer from Vancouver, British Columbia. Being born and bred pacific northwest, the rugged nature, pouring rain, and near constant beauty of the place Aidan grew up, inevitably formed him artistically. The melancholic atmosphere, the long stretches of rain, as well as the hope and triumph of spring are all analogous themes that got into his blood. And now bleed through, informing his art.
Impacted early by the writing of Bon Iver, John Prine, and Johnny Cash; before Aidan was out of his teens his penmanship could be seen garnering attention and streaming success. Most notably with the breakout release of Evergreen – EP by his first band August Kuper. In years following, Aidan toured western Canada supporting Calpurnia. And continued cutting his teeth as an artist. After the split of August Kuper, while regaining his footing creatively, Aidan worked in vintage clothing with Glorydays Fine Goods, and worked around BC as a Carpenter (to put it generously). All the while he never took his eye fully off what he knew he really ought to be doing. Music of course. Writing it, recording it, but most importantly playing it for people.
So thats what he decided to do. Getting back into the swing of things by playing The Cheese Inn, making a local name for himself one stage at a time. This brings us up to today. Aidan cuts his path solo, frequenting western Canadian venues with his impassioned songwriting, crowd rousing covers, and Irish classics. Building a small but loyal group of fans. You can catch him every week playing as late as the crowd will sing.
